Vancouver pedestrian seriously injured after being hit by car, police investigating

Cambie Street near West Broadway in Vancouver was closed temporarily Monday morning after a pedestrian was hit by a car before 6:30 a.m.

The Vancouver Police Department was asking drivers in the area to plan an alternate route as they investigated the incident.

Cambie Street reopened to traffic just after 8 a.m.

In a statement, Sgt. Steve Addison said that the pedestrian was seriously injured and was taken to hospital.

“Our Collision Investigation Unit is leading the investigation and will work to determine what happened. We have not yet confirmed the identity of the pedestrian.”
