“We received reports of a child who fell from a high-rise balcony onto a lower-level balcony in a residential building,” VPD Const. Tania Visintin said at the time.

First responders tried to save her life, but the eight-year-old girl, died at the scene.

In a statement Thursday, police say criminality was not a factor in her death.

“The November 11 fall was the result of a tragic accident.”

A fundraiser to support the girl’s surviving family has raised over $50,000.

Organizers of the GoFundMe remember the girl as a “beautiful, loving, and kind little soul who brought joy to everyone around her.”
