Four people were injured — leaving two in serious condition — after a fight broke out on a party bus in Surrey early Saturday morning.

Shorty after 1 a.m., Surrey Police Service received a 911 call from a bus driver who had stopped eastbound on Highway 1 just before the 192 Street exit.

The driver reported to police that several people on the bus were fighting.

At the same time, another 911 call was received from a passenger on the bus advising that several people had been stabbed and that the suspect had fled the scene on foot, according to SPS.

Police found four people injured. Two were transported to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, and two more were treated on scene for minor injuries.

Investigators used the help of police dogs to search for the suspect but did not find the man.

They describe the suspect as a Caucasian man in his 20s, approximately 6 foot and 150 lb., with short, dirty-blond hair. Police say he was wearing a white shirt with lemons on it, and possibly grey pants.

Surrey police are asking anyone with information about this assault to contact the SPS non-emergency line at 604-599-0502.
