Vancouver Police have arrested and charged one suspect following an investigation into two armed robberies near Olympic Village last week.
Police say they received a report shortly before 9 a.m. on Dec. 12 regarding a robbery at a coffee shop near Quebec Street and East 2nd Avenue. Witnesses allege the suspect had a knife.
As officers were responding to the incident, police received a second call about a robbery at a neighbouring business on Quebec Street.
Officers located a suspect in the area and took him into custody.
Police say James Roderick Hinton, 45, has been charged with two counts of robbery and one count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
