A suspect in a triple murder in east Vancouver has been formally charged with a third count of second-degree murder in the case.
Viet Quy John Ly was arrested on Sept. 5 and charged with two counts of second-degree murder.
Jianghui Deng, 55, and 54-year-old Chunxiu Yin were found stabbed to death in a condo earlier that day near Joyce Street and Vanness Avenue. Vancouver police investigators later found Jinfeng Guan, 50, with life-threatening injuries in another residential building two blocks away.
She died in hospital of her injuries on Sept. 11.
Police have confirmed Guan was Ly’s former spouse.
Early this week, the B.C. Prosecution Service laid a third count of murder against Ly. He has been in custody since his arrest.
