Bogere, 24, was last seen leaving his Coquitlam home on the evening of Dec. 27, 2019, according to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team’s Sgt. Freda Fong.
His body was found on Jan. 11, 2020, in a vacant forested property in Maple Ridge.
“Upon assessment of the scene by the Ridge Meadows RCMP, his death was determined to be suspicious, and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team was called to investigate,” Fong said.
“IHIT investigators worked diligently on a years-long investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding Mr. Bogere’s death, which resulted in the identification of the suspect.”
Alan Mohammed Taheri, 31, of Port Coquitlam was arrested on Dec. 19 and has been charged with one count of second-degree murder with a firearm and one count of indignity to human remains.
Reports at the time identified Bogere as a talented soccer player and a member of Coquitlam’s Sparta SC U-18 squad that won the Canadian National Championship.
