Chilliwack RCMP say shortly before 10:30 p.m., officers were called out to a collision at the intersection of Yale Road and Banford Road.
Police say the driver and lone occupant of the vehicle lost control and struck a power pole. While alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash, investigators believe the driver may have been speeding.
Emergency crews attended the crash site, but the man was already dead. Police say his family members have been notified.
The road was closed for several hours but it has since reopened.
Anyone with additional information or dash-cam footage is asked to call the Chilliwack RCMP at 604-792-4611.
