“When told that he’d have to pay for the add-on, the suspect allegedly went behind the counter, into the kitchen, and punched the cook in the face,” said a VPD statement Wednesday.

Police say the victim sustained a serious injury to the face and needed medical attention.

Another employee reportedly chased the suspect, who ran out of the restaurant and was later arrested by police.

The BC Prosecution Service has since approved the charge of one count of assault causing bodily harm against a 24-year-old man,

Records show a man with the suspect’s name is expected back in court on Saturday.
