Together with the New Westminster Fire and Rescue Services (NWFRS) and BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS), the New Westminster Police Department (NWPD) attended the scene.
The male victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, and the driver remained on scene, cooperating with police.
The Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service has taken over the investigation and is asking witnesses with possible dash-cam footage to contact police.
The area was closed for the ongoing investigation, but has since reopened.
The second incident happened in Surrey near the intersection of 152nd Street and 100th Street shortly before 2:30 p.m.
“The vehicle stopped, and there is no word/update on any injuries,” Surrey Police Service (SPS) Staff Sgt. Lindsey Houghton told 1130 NewsRadio.
He adds that the driver remained on scene and that there are no reports of any injuries.
Due to the incident, the westbound lanes on 100th Street are blocked, and 152nd Street is down to one lane.
In North Vancouver, a car hit a pedestrian at 1 p.m. at the intersection of Lynn Avenue and Main Street.
The North Vancouver RCMP says that the victim was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
