The Burnaby RCMP says it is investigating after a series of indecent acts were reported in a local park and along a trail.
Five incidents were reported between Jan. 15 and 20, police say. The acts range from public nudity to masturbation.
Investigators say four of the incidents took place at night in Central Park and one on Highland Park Trail after dark, near Beresford Street and Magnolia Terrace.
“Our investigators are piecing together information reported by the victims in each of these incidents, including suspect descriptions, to look for any similarities and develop a comprehensive picture of the person or persons responsible so we can share more information with the public,” said Cpl. Laura Hirst.
“In the meantime, we want to ensure people are informed and aware of these incidents so they can remain vigilant and take precautions,” she added.
Hirst tells CityNews police aren’t issuing a description of the suspect until they are sure they have the most accurate information possible.
Meanwhile, she says, there will be an increased police presence in the areas as the investigation takes place.
Anyone with any information is asked to call the Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999.
