Police say they have made an arrest in connection with the city’s first homicide of the year.
A 22-year-old man was arrested Jan. 24 in connection with the fatal stabbing of 48-year-old Christopher Jumal Sanderson in East Vancouver last week.

On Jan. 20, shortly after 8:30 p.m., the VPD was called to the area of East 10th Avenue and Commercial Drive, where they found the victim. He was taken to hospital and later died of his injuries.



Police say a search warrant was executed at a home in the area of Commercial Drive and East 13th Avenue on Jan. 24, which resulted in the arrest.
Quoc The Cathedral Dang has been charged with one count of second-degree murder.
He remains in custody.
