Vancouver City Coun. Pete Fry has announced his intention to run for mayor.
The Green Party councillor says residents are feeling squeezed by the rising cost of living and thinks city hall is out of touch with what residents experience every day.

He will be running against incumbent Ken Sim with the ABC, fellow Coun. Rebecca Bligh — who was kicked out of the ABC last year — and former Sim chief of staff Kareem Allam, among others.
OneCity and COPE have yet to announce who they intend to run as their own mayoral candidates.
Fry was first elected to council in 2018. He said last year that he was considering a mayoral run.
The civic election is set for this October.
