The North Vancouver RCMP says it is investigating a reported hit-and-run involving two pedestrians Saturday evening.
Officers were called to Highland Boulevard and Wavertree Road around 7:30 p.m. after reports of the crash.
“It is alleged that a man and a woman were crossing the street in a marked crosswalk when a white sedan struck the pedestrians,” Mounties say.
“The suspect vehicle briefly slowed down but quickly drove away.”
The woman was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The man was not injured, police say.
BC Emergency Health Services confirms one person was transported to hospital in serious but stable condition.
The suspect vehicle is a white sedan that may have a broken headlight, police say.
“Police are asking the driver of the white sedan to come forward and provide their version of events,” said Cpl. Mansoor Sahak.
“Coming forward now is the right thing to do, and it will help investigators gain a clearer understanding of what occurred.”
Police are asking any witnesses to call them at 604-985-1311 and refer to file 26-2119.
