Reports allege the driver of a grey sedan, making a left turn, struck a person crossing West 3rd Street in a wheelchair and drove away.

“The pedestrian sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital. They are expected to recover,” Mounties said.

The RCMP has shared a video of the moments leading up to the collision, apparently captured by a dashcam.

“Police are releasing dash cam video of the incident in hopes that further witnesses with critical information will come forward,” said Cpl. Mansoor Sahak.

“We are also asking the driver to do the right thing and come forward; it will help investigators gain a clearer understanding of what occurred.”

Anyone with information or video to share is asked to call the North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311 and quote file 26-2488.
