“SPS Frontline officers, along with Surrey Fire Services and BCEHS, attended the scene. Despite life-saving measures, the pedestrian, a 45-year-old female, sadly succumbed to her injuries,” police explained later Thursday morning.
On Wednesday evening, the driver of another vehicle fatally struck an 81-year-old woman on 102 Avenue near Whalley Boulevard.
In both instances, the SPS says the drivers remained on scene and are cooperating with police.
About Thursday morning’s collision, police said, “it does not currently appear that impairment is a contributing factor in the collision, however, the cause remains unknown at this very early stage of the investigation.”

The SPS says a section of 132 Street and the intersection will likely remain closed for “several hours.”
Witnesses or anyone with dashcam video related to Thursday’s collision are asked to contact the SPS non-emergency line at 604-599-0502 and quote file number 25-14286 (SP).
