Police say the suspect dropped the bike at Mountainview Cemetery on Fraser Street near East 41st Avenue, but that’s not where the story ends.

“He allegedly entered a work truck parked inside the cemetery, drove it into a tree, and set a fire inside the cab of the truck,” the VPD explained.

Responding officers reportedly noticed a man matching the suspect’s description fleeing from the scene of the crash.

After chasing him, police say the suspect ran into traffic, where the driver of a vehicle struck and injured him.

“He was taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be serious,” said police.

The 41-year-old suspect is reportedly in custody, but the BC Prosecution Service has yet to lay any charges against him.
