Police have identified the victim in a fatal shooting in Chilliwack Sunday morning.
According to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT), 48-year-old Kristopher Benson was pronounced dead at the scene after a shooting at a home on Mellard Avenue.
IHIT Sgt. Freda Fong says they have released the victim’s identity to advance the investigation.
“The investigation is still in its early stages, and while the motivation is still under investigation, the preliminary information suggests that this was a targeted and isolated incident,” Fong told 1130 NewsRadio.
“We hope to provide more updates as the investigation unfolds.”
Police say a second victim remains in hospital in stable condition.
