Police investigating after woman was hit by ‘object from an unknown source’ in Pitt Meadows

Police say a woman in Pitt Meadows was struck in the eye by an object — but they do not know from where.

The Ridge Meadows RCMP says that the incident occurred on Harris Road near the railroad tracks at 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 13.

According to police, the woman was waiting for the bus when the object hit her from an unknown source.

She sustained an injury to her eye, which started to bleed.

Before officers arrived at the scene, the woman received help from bystanders.

The BC Emergency Health Service responded to the scene shortly after and transported her to the hospital.

Mounties are now asking witnesses to step forward as the investigation is ongoing.

“We are unsure of the exact circumstances surrounding this incident and are looking for more information to further advance our investigation,” said Sgt. Michelle Luca.

“Anyone with more information, including possible dash-cam or video surveillance at the time, is asked to contact us.”
