Man charged after allegedly assaulting a father, Vancouver police say

A man has been charged in connection with an alleged assault involving a family with young children in downtown Vancouver, police say.

On Dec. 21, 2025, a family with two children in a stroller was crossing the street at Burrard and Georgia, according to the VPD.

“A man not known to the family is alleged to have shoved the stroller as they crossed the intersection,” police said.

“When the father confronted the man, he reportedly threw his drink onto the ground, splashing the children in the stroller, and then punched the father in the face.”

Twenty-four-year-old Jaxon Andre Carter has been charged with one count of assault. The VPD says he has been released from custody with conditions.
