Kelowna RCMP seizes weapons, drugs, and cash from known ‘problem residence’

The Kelowna RCMP says its Crime Reduction Unit executed a search warrant at a home March 4, resulting in a significant seizure of weapons, drugs, and cash.

The search warrant at the home — which is located on Coronation Avenue near St. Paul Street — was executed as part of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking and illegal firearms.

“This residence was linked to fueling the supply of toxic drugs, primarily within Kelowna’s downtown core,” said Sgt. Scott Powrie.

“Our investigation revealed that is has been a significant contributor to the presence of these drugs in the area.”

The items seized include eight firearms, several imitation firearms, around 400 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, 100 grams of suspected cocaine and fentanyl, and hundreds of prescription pills. As well, it seized a 3D printer used to manufacture firearms, and a “large quantity” of ammunition.

Police say they work with the City of Kelowna to monitor “problem residences” through public reports and calls for service received by the city’s bylaw department.
