Burnaby RCMP is calling for the public’s help in a road rage incident, as the registered owner of the vehicle has refused to co-operate.

On Aug. 19, 2025, two people were allegedly assaulted in an incident on Dover Street, near Royal Oak Avenue, in Burnaby, a scene captured on both internal and external dashcams of their vehicle.

The video shows the suspect approach the victims’ vehicle with something in his hand, and punch the driver’s side window, shattering it. He then also returns to the victim’s vehicle a few moments later, grabs a cellphone off the dashboard, then throws it at the passenger. Both occupants of the vehicle sustained injuries.

The investigation identified the passenger of the suspect vehicle as the registered owner, but despite numerous attempts — including a few days ago — the owner has refused to identify the suspect.

“The video is hard to watch, and the violence displayed is simply inexcusable,” said RCMP Cpl. Mike Kalanj. “We are confident that someone will be able to identify the suspect, and we ask that they come forward and speak to our investigators.”
