The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called in after a shooting death in Surrey early Sunday morning.

Surrey Police Service (SPS) members were called to a home on Laurel Drive near 139th Street

Surrey police say they were called to the area of Laurel Drive near 139th Street around 1:40 a.m. after receiving reports of shots fired.

When they arrived the found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. BC Emergency Health Services was called to the scene, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have arrested a man, who remains in custody.
