The RCMP have identified the victim who died in a confrontation at a boat ramp near Fort St. John last week.

Mounties said Gurkirat Manocha, 25, was seriously injured in an incident at around 11:10 p.m. on Friday at the Charlie Lake boat ramp, about nine kilometres outside of Fort St. John.

Several people were involved in the confrontation, said police.
Despite efforts to save Manocha’s life, he died from his injuries. Police didn’t provide details of the fatal injuries.
On Sunday, police released Manocha’s name and photograph in the hopes of getting witnesses to come forward and talk to investigators.
