The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken over the investigation of a Saturday morning homicide in Surrey, police say.
Surrey Police Service (SPS) officers were called to the area of Foxglove Drive and 98th Avenue around 11:15 a.m. to assist BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) and Surrey Fire with an unresponsive man.
“Upon arrival, members located a man apparently suffering from injuries who was receiving treatment from BCEHS,” the SPS said.
“Despite life-saving efforts, the man was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene.”
The incident appears to be isolated, police say. The suspect has been taken into custody but hasn’t yet been charged.
Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to call IHIT at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448).
