Police are investigating Tuesday morning after a driver struck and killed a pedestrian near the border of Delta and Surrey.
The Delta Police Department (DPD) says it responded to reports of the collision at the intersection of Sunwood Drive and 64 Avenue around 7 a.m.

Paramedics and firefighters attempted to save the victim, a man, but he died of his injuries at the scene.
Police say the driver did not flee from the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
64 Avenue is closed to traffic in both directions between Wade Road and 120 Street.. Sunwood Drive is also closed in both directions at the intersection.
The DPD did not provide an estimated time for reopening the roads. Drivers are advised to avoid the area.
