The changes include adjusting the contentious online reservation system.

City staff has proposed decreasing the admissions breakdown from 80 per cent online registration — with 20 per cent drop-in — down to 75 per cent for public swims and 50 per cent for length swims.
A new survey by Leger found that many viewed the online system as beneficial. However, a third of those who tried to secure a reservation last year were unable to do so, and Park Board Chair Tom Digby says there has been a lot of frustration.
“One guy was just really mad about the online booking,” Digby said.
“He said it was outrageous, it was inconsistent with the way it’s always been at these pools. And I said, well, there’s still the walk-in opportunity. You can just show up and walk in.”
If city staff’s recommendations are approved, kids’ pools would also be open longer on the weekends, and public swims will be extended.
The proposal is set to be discussed at Monday evening’s board meeting.
