The health authority previously stated that the temporarily reduced hours would end on April 6.

The ER opens every day from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. with emergency-trained nurses on site after hours.

Those nurses will support patients with basic care, assist with re-direction of care, and transfer patients with urgent needs to a neighbouring hospital.

“We are continuing to make every effort to recruit more staff and prevent further service adaptations,” Fraser Health said.

“We know how important access to emergency care is for the community.”

The health authority adds that the ER is currently under renovation due to flood damage in 2024.

“We continue to pursue opportunities to further expedite this work as we know that completing it is key to our recruitment efforts,” Frasher Health said.
