Investigators say that the initial two-vehicle collision happened on the eastbound Highway 11 off-ramp at Old Yale Road.

According to police, a blue Hyundai SUV fled the scene and “continued eastbound along Old Yale Road, crossed into oncoming traffic, left the roadway, and collided with a tree in Crossley Park.”

Emergency crews found three occupants in the SUV, and no one was seriously injured.

However, all were transported to the hospital as a precaution.

The driver of the second vehicle involved in the original collision was not injured.

While the investigation is in its early stages, the APD is now seeking witnesses and dash-cam footage of both the initial collision and the SUV crashing into the tree.

The APD can be contacted at 604-859-5225.
