More than a dozen people were assessed and treated by paramedics after a hazmat incident at a playground in Chilliwack Friday, according to BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS).
Ambulances were called to Kinsmen Park on Portage, located on Macken Avenue, shortly before 11 a.m. Friday.
When they arrived, they found 14 patients who required care, BCEHS says.

Chilliwack Fire Department Emergency Coordinator Chris Wilson tells CityNews that two engine crews provided decontamination at the scene and assisted first responders.
No patients needed to be taken to hospital, BCEHS says.
We have reached out to the Chilliwack RCMP for more information, including the nature of the hazardous substance and the condition of the victims.
