Man charged with internet child-luring, possession of child sex abuse material, Vancouver police say

A suspect has been charged with several offences related to internet child-luring, the Vancouver Police Department (VPD) says.

On April 6, 2024, police received a report from a mother who said she had discovered her teen daughter was exchanging text messages with an adult man.

“The mother also learned that the man had allegedly requested intimate photographs from her daughter in exchange for money,” the VPD said.

On Dec. 14, 2024, VPD’s Internet Child Exploitation arrested 36-year-old Geordie Roxburgh and seized a number of electronic devices and firearms.

Police say that on March 25, Roxburgh was charged with internet luring of a person under 18, possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material, and unlawful firearm possession.

Roxburgh is set to appear in court May 5.
