One man is dead and another has been arrested after a fire at the Peardonville homeless encampment in Abbotsford on Friday night.

Shortly after 6 p.m. Abbotsford police were joined at the encampment by firefighters who extinguished the fire in a single wooden structure. A man was found dead inside the structure at the camp, located in the 31500-block of South Fraser Way.

Police confirmed the incident is an isolated and targeted homicide.
