After several record daily highs Sunday, 1130 NewsRadio Meteorologist Michael Kuss says B.C. will continue to bask in the heat again Monday.
Kuss said B.C. weather stations reported, “24 new records yesterday, including West Vancouver and Victoria shattering an old record from 1898. Expect record-setting heat Monday.”

He says an early summer blast will last all week long.
“But the peak of the heat comes today with temperatures even on the south coast pushing 30 degrees C and inland into the mid 30s.”

1130 NewsRadio reached out to the provincial government on what it’s doing to keep residents safe throughout the sweltering weather.
In a statement, Minister of Emergency Management and Climate Readiness Kelly Greene says, through BC Hydro, there’s support for air conditioners for medically vulnerable people.
“We also work with local governments who are really aware of which buildings may be problematic and which groups need a little bit more support,” said Greene.
Otherwise, the province encourages British Columbians to be good neighbours and check in on people who are more susceptible to heat.
