On Wednesday, the New Westminster Police Traffic Unit hosted a commercial vehicle check at Royal Avenue and Sixth Street in New West.

It was a partnership involving the Port Moody Police Department, Delta Police Department, Metro Vancouver Transit Police, the RCMP Integrated Road Safety Unit, and Langley Township Bylaw Commercial Vehicle Enforcement.

Of the 23 commercial vehicles that were inspected, eight vehicles were taken out of service.

Four vehicles were found to have insecure loads.

A total of 24 violation tickets were issued.
