One person is dead after shots rang out late Tuesday inside a condo unit on a quiet crescent in Langley.

First responders from the Langley RCMP, Langley City Fire Rescue Service and B.C. Ambulance Service went to the 5400-block of Brydon Crescent shortly after 11:30 p.m.

One person was found in medical distress and died at the scene, said Sgt. Zynal Sharoom in a news release.
Sgt. Freda Fong of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team said the motive is still unclear but investigators believe it was a targeted incident limited to a single unit at the multi-dwelling complex.
Fong said the victim was a man in his 40s whose name won’t be released until family are notified.
“Investigators are expected to be in the area for some time as a fulsome scene examination is underway,” said Fong. “Investigators are canvassing door-to-door for video and witnesses, and it is important for anyone with information to contact IHIT right away.”
Anyone with information or dashcam footage in the area between 10 p.m. and midnight on May 26 is asked to call the IHIT information line at 1-877-551-4448 or email ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
