Two people are missing after reports they had fallen from their paddleboards and failed to resurface on Browning Lake south of Squamish.

Officers from the Sea to Sky RCMP detachment were called out around 3 p.m. Saturday and a search was launched involving Mounties, RCMP Air Services, Squamish Search and Rescue, Squamish Fire Rescue and rangers from B.C. Parks.

Murrin Provincial Park, where the lake is located, was closed to the public Saturday evening for the police investigation and to allow the search to continue.

Browning is a small lake just off the Sea to Sky Highway a few kilometres north of Britannia Beach.
