Surrey Police Service (SPS) is asking the public for help identifying a suspect in a sex assault involving a teen victim in Surrey’s Clayton Heights neighbourhood.
On June 6, around 7 p.m., SPS officers responded to a report of a sexual assault where a female teenaged victim reported that she was sexually assaulted at approximately 4:30 p.m. near 188th Street and 70th Avenue.

The suspect allegedly approached the victim from behind and assaulted her.
The teen victim was able to flee and run to safety.
The suspect is described as a man, approximately 6’1” to 6’2” tall, medium build and approximately 20 years of age. He had short curly black hair, a short black beard, wearing a black t-shirt and dark pants.
The suspect was last seen walking north on 188th Street.
On June 12, SPS made an arrest in the investigation.
Yusuf Mohiadin Ahmed, a 28-year-old male, has been charged with one count of sexual assault.
