Mission RCMP have spent another busy weekend focusing on illegal shooting up the Lost Creek Forest Service Road (FSR).
On June 13, around 6:45 p.m., a person reported a group of men shooting around the 7.5 km marker of the FSR. An officer attended the scene and found five men from Abbotsford, two of which were shooting guns.

The two gun owners, both 21-years-old, had their five firearms seized by police and received a $690 ticket for discharging a firearm in a no-shooting area.
About an hour later on the same day, officers found another group of five people, two of them actively shooting. Four guns were seized from a 27-year-old man from Delta and a 26-year-old-man from Surrey.
Fifteen minutes later, RCMP patrolling the area came across another group of illegal shooters. Four men, two from Surrey, two from Nova Scotia, were handling two shotguns. The group stated they had come to the area to film a rap video and did not know about the shooting regulations.
Their guns were seized and the men will be served with a ticket.
On June 14, a group of males were shooting along Lost Creek FSR. Officers attended the scene and stopped the group as they were leaving. A rifle, two shotguns, and a prohibited firearm were located with the group, comprised of seven men from Abbotsford.
The prohibited firearm was relinquished for destruction, and tickets were issued for both the illegal shooting, as well as the group having open liquor in their vehicles.
Shooting is illegal within 400 metres of FSR in the Sylvester/Lost Creek Forest Service Road area, which means nearly all of the area is closed to shooting.
Illegal shooting can lead to a ticket for $690, guns being seized, and possible criminal charges.
