The City of Burnaby has closed MacPherson Outdoor Pool after a recent inspection determined the pool has a significant water leak.
The pool is currently losing about 68,000 gallons (257,000 litres) of water each day. That is about the equivalent of refilling the entire pool every five days.

The city is assessing the extent of the issue and evaluating potential options and next steps.
A reopening timeline has not yet been determined.
“We recognize this closure will be disappointing and inconvenient for many residents, families and user groups,” said Mary Morrison-Clark, General Manager of Parks, Recreation and Culture.
“However, given the amount of water being lost each day and the need to act responsibly with our water resources, closing the pool while we investigate and assess next steps is the right thing to do.”
Outdoor pools at Kensington Park, Burnaby Central Park, and Robert Burnaby Park remain open.
