Vancouver Fire Rescue Services (VFRS) was called to a house fire around 8 a.m. Wednesday.

When crews arrived on scene, there was heavy fire coming out of one of the windows, says Acting Assistant Chief Jeff Bryant with VFRS.

The home is located in the Langara neighbourhood. 

According to VFRS, the home was sold about five to six months ago but did not seem to be occupied at the time of the fire.

The fire was contained to the one house, and after the fire was out, the building is still standing. 

There were no injuries, and no one was in the house. 

Damage to the property is extensive, with smoke and water damage throughout.

Six fire trucks responded to the fire, with 25 to 30 firefighters, says Bryant. 

VFRS has not said what caused the fire.
