The Okanagan Indian Band (OKIB) has expanded evacuation orders as the Bradley Creek Wildfire continues to threaten properties in the Head of the Lake area.
An evacuation order has been issued for the area north of Bonneau Road and south of Highway 97, as well as all residents located across the lake along Head of the Lake Road.
Authorities have also ordered the immediate evacuation of Hawhola Road and all properties up to the OKIB IR 1 boundary.
Residents affected by the order are being directed to evacuation reception centres based on their location.
Those north of Head of the Lake are asked to travel to Kal Tire Place in Vernon, located at 3445 43rd Ave. Residents south of the area should report to the Westbank Lions Club at 2466 Main St. in West Kelowna.
Emergency officials are stressing that everyone within the evacuation zone must leave immediately and follow directions from authorities.
The evacuation expansion comes as crews continue to respond to the Bradley Creek Wildfire, which has prompted growing concerns about public safety and the potential impact on nearby communities.
Residents are urged to monitor official emergency channels for the latest updates and further instructions.
