Accused Manitoba murderer, one of Canada’s most wanted, arrested in Langley

An accused killer charged in a 2024 Winnipeg murder was arrested last week in Langley by B.C.’s anti-gang agency.

The Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit picked up Tresor Horimbere, 24, on July 30. On Monday, he was handed over to the Manitoba integrated violent offender apprehension unit and returned to Winnipeg.

CFSEU Sgt. Sarbjit Sangha said her agency worked closely with Winnipeg Police to locate and arrest Horimbere, who is charged with one count of first degree murder in connection with the July 13, 2024 slaying of Mohamed Yusuf Abdullah.
She said the RCMP’s Integrated Emergency Response Team also assisted because of the high-risk nature of the arrest.
“No single police agency can combat violent crime alone. The successful arrest of a fugitive wanted for murder is the result of strong partnerships, intelligence-led policing, and the dedication of officers committed to public safety,” Sangha said.
Abdullah, 22, was gunned down in the parking lot of the Ralph Cantafio Soccer Complex in Winnipeg at about 11:45 p.m. He had been playing in the Canada African Cup of Nations tournament that night, an event attended by 100 people, police said at the time.
He was transported to hospital in critical condition where he was later pronounced dead. Police said that the murder was targeted.
Horimbere had been featured as one of the BOLO program’s Canada’s 25 most wanted fugitives with a $100,000 reward offered for information leading to his arrest.
The BOLO — or “be on the lookout” — program was started by a non-profit foundation to aid in the search for fugitives by offering rewards and amplifying the cases through billboards and social media campaigns.
Several high-profile accused murderers have been captured after being featured in Bolo campaigns.

Earlier this year, another Winnipeg fugitive and accused killer on the most wanted list, Chad Jason Dandan, was arrested in Surrey by CFSEU officers. Dandan is charged with first degree murder in connection to the death of Zeyad Shammo in September 2024.
B.C. fugitives like Rabih Alkhali, Conor D’Monte and Brandon Teixeira were all arrested after being the subject of BOLO campaigns.
Alkhalil, of the Wolfpack gang alliance, was arrested in Qatar in September 2025. He has been convicted in two gangland slayings.
D’Monte, of the United Nations gang, was arrested in Puerto Rico in February 2022. He pleaded guilty last year to conspiracy to commit murder in a plot targeting the Red Scorpion gang. Teixeira was arrested in California in 2019. He was convicted a year ago of first-degree murder and sentenced to life this past April.
