A Richmond woman has been reunited with her diamond ring after Richmond RCMP located it in the parking lot where it was lost.

Police said the woman reported losing the 1.31-carat diamond ring, valued at approximately $17,000, in the parking lot of a shopping complex in the 4500 block of No. 3 Road.

Officers responded shortly after midnight on July 19 and began searching the area. During the search, light from a police cruiser illuminated the ring, allowing an officer to spot it on the ground.

The ring was recovered and taken to the Richmond RCMP detachment, where police were able to return it to its owner after confirming its identity.
