Surrey police seek public’s help identifying suspect in alleged sexual assault of young girl

Surrey police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect following an alleged sexual assault in Bear Creek Park.

According to the Surrey Police Service (SPS), the incident occurred around 8:11 p.m. on Sunday.

A girl reported she had been groped by a man while in the park.

Police say the suspect left the area before officers arrived. SPS says patrols were conducted in and around the park, however, the suspect was not located.

Investigators are now releasing images of the man in hopes members of the public can help identify him.

The suspect is described as being about five-foot-eight and was wearing a blue Adidas toque, a black T-shirt, black pants, and black flip-flops at the time of the incident.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to contact the SPS at 604-599-0502 and reference file 26-84299.
