A Chilliwack convenience store had an unwelcome surprise this week when a car drove through its front window, the owner tells CityNews.

Video shared by Padmore’s Quick Shop shows a blue car crashing through the storefront before reversing and driving away.

Mounties confirm they were called to the area Tuesday afternoon.

“Chilliwack RCMP attended a report of a vehicle that had driven into a building on Menzies Avenue at approximately 2:55 p.m.,” police said.

“Officers attended and observed damage to the building consistent with a collision. The vehicle believed to be involved was no longer at the location.”

The store owner says the car’s licence plate fell off during the crash.

Police say no injuries have been reported, and the investigation is ongoing.
