Police investigating after indecent act in Burnaby park washroom

The Burnaby RCMP says it is investigating after a report of an indecent act in a park washroom last week.

Officers say they were called to a public washroom on the west side of Central Park on Aug. 19 around 7 p.m.

“The victim reported he had gone to use the men’s washroom when a man stood next to him and began masturbating,” Mounties said in a news release.

“Police attended, but the suspect had left the scene.”

The RCMP says the suspect is 35 to 40 years old and 5-foot-10 with a slim build. He was wearing a black t-shirt, multi-coloured shorts, and a fanny pack worn over his shoulder.

“Police want to ensure the public is aware of this incident so they can take appropriate safety precautions, including remaining aware of their surroundings and immediately reporting any suspicious activity.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999.
