The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) is asking witnesses to come forward after a man was stabbed during a robbery in downtown Vancouver Tuesday night.

Police say officers responded to reports of a stabbing near Granville and Nelson streets at approximately 10:45 p.m.

Investigators say the victim was approached by two suspects who allegedly robbed him of his bag before stabbing him in the arm. The suspects then fled the area, running southbound on Granville Street.

The victim was transported to hospital with injuries that police describe as non-life-threatening.

The first suspect is described as a youth with a slim build who was wearing a green jacket and black pants and carrying a black side bag.

The second suspect is described as a youth with a medium build who was wearing a black hoodie and black pants.

VPD is asking anyone who witnessed the incident, has dashcam footage, or possesses CCTV video from the area to contact investigators at 604-717-3321.
