A collision on Highway 97 near Campbell Road in West Kelowna has resulted in two dead.

Around 4 a.m. on Tuesday, an eastbound Toyota collided with a westbound Jeep, investigators say.

Police say emergency responders attended to four people involved in the crash. Two were dead at the scene and the other two were sent to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

The investigation into the crash continues but RCMP say alcohol is believed to be involved.

The BC Coroners Service is working with police to further the investigation.

BC Highway Patrol (BCHP) is seeking witnesses to the incident, including the driving behaviour of both cars prior to the collision.
