A Saturday morning barn fire in Maple Ridge has resulted in two people being injured.

Around 8:50 a.m., both Maple Ridge Fire Rescue and Pitt Meadows Fire & Rescue Service (PMFRS) responded to a fire in the 13000-block of Neaves Road.

According to Fire Chief Chris Miley of PMFRS, crews worked quickly to bring the fire under control.

The barn was on fire from the outside, shared fire officials.

BC Emergency Health Services also responded to the call for the two injured. They were both transported to hospital for treatment.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time as the investigation is just beginning.

Investigators stated that two people lived inside the barn, but it is unclear if the injured were the same people.
