Impaired driver crashes car into utility pole in Coquitlam

An alleged impaired driver crashed their car into a utility pole in Coquitlam on Oct. 3, RCMP say.

Around 4:40 p.m., officers were called to Lougheed Highway, near Dewdney Trunk Road, where a single car had gone off the road. 

The lone occupant of the car was checked by BC Emergency Health Services on scene.

The driver was arrested for allegedly operating a motor vehicle while impaired and taken to the Coquitlam RCMP detachment. 

RCMP are looking for dashcam footage of the area between Lougheed Highway and Westwood Street between 4:30 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. 

Investigators say that the case is still active.
