Police say that the suspects forced their way into the house and held the victim against his will.
Once police arrived at the scene, officers put a nearby school on hold-and-secure out of caution for the students while the incident was unfolding.
“We found all four suspects inside a residence,” VPD Const. Darren Wong said.
He adds that three of the four suspects attempted to flee the scene, but police were able to apprehend them shortly after.
“Several individuals were taken into custody, and the road was closed for several hours as police conducted their investigation,” said North Vancouver RCMP Cpl. Mansoor Sahak.

Police did not provide any further details on how the 45-year-old victim was freed, only that he suffered minor injuries from the incident.
Investigators assume that the victim was specially targeted, yet they did not provide any additional details on the relationship between the man and the four suspects.
The incident is now under investigation by the VPD because of an earlier occurrence, police believe the four individuals are connected to.
“The four suspects are subject to an ongoing investigation that has headed up by our Vancouver Police Major Crime Section,” Wong added.
“So, when we became aware of this incident taking place, we were able to mobilize police resources, including those of the Lower Mainland Emergency Response
Team and the North Vancouver RCMP officers, to assist in a response.”
The four male suspects remain in police custody.
